Amy Butler Domestic Goddess Half Apron

.
This weekend I made myself the Amy Butler Domestic Goddess half apron.  I've been wanting one since I made these as Christmas gifts.

I hung the apron up to try and get a better shot of it and for some reason it looks ridiculously wide when hanging!

Here's the apron in action:

This is a fun and easy sewing pattern and has neat details.  I especially like the pleats at the center of the apron.  I'm a slow sewer and this only took me a few hours to make.
.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!  I saw my two best friends this weekend and went bridesmaid dress shopping for my friend Ann's wedding.  Lots of fun!

  5. What a fun apron! I keep seeing Amy Butler's patterns pop up in blog land...silly question...did you buy the pattern in a store or does Amy have a blog? Probably looking like a fool for asking this question.
I am thinking I might need to give this a try! Thanks for sharing :)

  6. I love it. Don't you just find Amy Butler fabrics inspiring? I am working on a baby quilt for me now 4 month old niece with some of her Nigella prints.
I will post when I am finished.

I see that you changed your "about me" and realize we are such kindred spirits. I too feel restless if I don't have a project on the go, I wish I were an interior designer for an architectural firm (but my hubby would scream if I went back to school AGAIN) and I love to sew, bake, cook etc!

Can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve!

  7. This is SO stinkin' cute! I love your fabric choices!!! I have an old sewing machine that a family friend gave me that I need to get worked on so that I can learn my way around the intimidating hobby...I want to be able to sew SO badly! Thanks for the inspiration!
p.s. thanks so much for the insight on the Alaskan cruise - Stephen went when he was in Middle School so we've had a couple of convo's on how we'll pick out our excursions - all advice is welcomed :)

  11. Is that Amy Butler fabric? What is the name of it? I really love the colors and the print and would like to find it somewhere. Thanks! (Really cute apron, by the way.)

  15. nice work! I really love Amy's patterns. The way things are explained makes them really easy to follow, and the details (like the pleats) make the piece.
