I have finally finished my Craigslist table! I debated over painting it a bold, bright color, but in the end I went with my trusty standby, Krylon Dover White. I love the bright pop of white - my living room really needed it I think.

Here's a before photo, I just love all the detail in the table.

Before painting, I used this primer by Valspar.

And here's what it looks like right now in my living room:

I still haven't added any accessories. I sort of got sick of everything in my living room and took it all out and am slowly bringing things back in. The bare look is actually sort of refreshing. I was so sick of all my pillows that I sold them at a garage sale we had in May. I have fabric to make news ones...I just need to find some time and get sewing. I am going to attempt to add zippers to the pillows. Anyone have any good tips or know of helpful tutorials?

In other news, today is my Dad's 60th Birthday - Happy birthday Dad!

Hi Alissa,
ReplyDeleteI love love love what you did with your craigslist table, defintiely did a great job on it. Taking spray paint to a piece of furniture or even picture frames is a quick and easy way to spruce up one's living space. Look forward to more projects you post here!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I wish I had more decorating skills.
ReplyDeleteIt is good to be back at last catching up with your blogging activities and your sister, just come from there:) I love your new look table, very seventies to me, which shows I am nearly as old as your Dad. Happy Birthday to him Alissa :)
ReplyDeleteDid you sand at all or just prime and paint? I would love to paint a cabinet of mine but really don't want to have to sand it.....
ReplyDeleteLove your table. Looks so fresh and clean and who would've thought the color white could "pop" so well!! Love the picture of you and your dad. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic! As for zippers, sewing an invisible zipper is easy. I just found some tutorials on You Tube, I found video format most helpful! Easy peasy though. What is hard is piping AND an invisible zipper, that takes patience!
ReplyDeleteAlissa, your table is stunning in white! I love it in that spot with the white lamp. I really want to pare down my stuff too. I think I will try your idea of taking it all out and bringing in only what I love. Happy Birthday to Dad!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sherry

I forgot to tell you that I'm also your newest follower and am loving your blog!
ReplyDeleteTable looks great, but "Dad and I" is just painful.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great table!

Your living room looks great with the table. The table looks so beautiful after painted. Also it has beautiful style that make me amazed.
ReplyDeleteLove your table.
ReplyDeleteIn re your new pillows: The first side of ther pillow you should sew is the one with the zipper in it. Then open the zipper and sew the 3 other sides leaving the zipper side open. Check herehttp://www.craftynest.com/2009/03/easy-pillow-cover-with-zipper/
