Happy Friday! Are you glad the weekend is almost here? I sure am!
I made this quilt earlier this Spring for a friend who had a baby girl. I made a quilt for her first baby ( see it here ) when she was pregnant and made it gender neutral since she didn't find out what she was having. This time, I waited until the baby was born. I'm glad I did - I was able to go all out and make it super girly!
Sewing for babies is one of my most favorite things. The items are small, and the best part - babies don't notice your mistakes!
I adore this tulip fabric. I found it at my local fabric store during Tulip Time. I thought it was the perfect backing for the pink gingham front.
This quilt was easy to sew and would be a perfect quilt for beginners.
Happy weekend!
It's adorable Alissa! You do good work. I haven't stopped by your blog in a while so thought I would drop in to say hi :) Enjoy following along with you on IG - have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Alissa!! You are so talented!! I love your fabric choices.
ReplyDeleteHow long does it take you to make a quilt like this?
It sounds like quilting/sewing is a lot faster than knitting! I would love to learn, maybe someday when I no longer have a j.o.b. during the day. You have so many skills & talents that I envy! What a beautiful baby gift!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love it!

Sorry, no tutorial yet - it is still on my list!
DeleteLove this quilt! Do you happen to know the name of the tulip material? It would be perfect for my baby girls nursery!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm sorry - I made the quilt nearly two years ago and no longer have the fabric information.
DeleteThis is beautiful! Did you by chance ever make a tutorial? I looked but didn't see one. Can you tell me how much fabric you needed?
ReplyDeleteHi Mandy - I'm sorry, I did not do a tutorial. I made the quilt almost two years ago and no longer have the fabric amounts I used. I'm sorry!
DeleteI love this quilt! It makes me happy to look at it! Thanks for sharing 😊
ReplyDeleteAdorable! What is the name of the store where the tulip print fabric was purchased?

DeleteWhat size were your squares?
ReplyDeleteHello! I cut my squares to 3-1/2” and used a 1/4” seam allowance.
