As of May 2013, all photos on my blog are taken with a Nikon D7000.  I love this camera!  I used my first DSLR (see below) for several years and finally felt that I was ready to upgrade.

In May 2013 I also purchased a new lens.  I was about to go on a European vacation and I thought a wide angle lens would really round out my collection and be great for travel photography.  This lens is a bit of an investment, but I think it was a great purchase.  I researched several options and decided on the Nikon AF-S 10-24 f/3.5.

This lens is a lot of fun to use!

Here are a few shots taken with the 10-24:

Prior to May 2013, all photos on my blog were taken with my Nikon D40.  See information below.  All lens info below is still current - I still use my 35mm for most of the photos you see here on the blog.

I bought my Nikon D40 in Spring 2007.  I've always enjoyed taking photos and upgraded to a DSLR a few weeks before a cruise to Alaska.  I shot with the kit lens (Nikon 18-55mm) for the first two years of owning the camera - and I might add, on Auto!  Now I shoot mostly in Aperture Priority mode (A on Nikons) and 99.9% of the time do not use a flash.

The lens I use 95% of the time is the Nikon 35mm f/1.8 AF-S .  For a review of this lens click here.  I love this lens and since purchasing my photography has really changed.  I can't recommend this lens enough - it is a great value!

I also own a Nikon 55-200 VR.  This is a zoom lens and is great for action or sports shots.  I don't use it often but I think it's a great lens.  Read a review here.
